hi, I'm Rachel
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Art Therapist in Ventura County, California. I have always been captivated by people's stories. My passion is helping people heal, and find relief and a sense of peace.
For my undergrad studies, I focused on art at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. During this season, I shared a meal each week with homeless people. Hearing their stories about how difficult events and systemic oppression negatively impacted the trajectory of their lives sparked my desire to learn how to ease people's pain and help them heal, giving them a second chance to live joyfully again. It also informed my heart for activism and using my privilege to advocate for the marginalized.
I earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy with specialized training in Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. I have been working with clients since 2015, and I am humbled by the opportunity to be a guide for my clients and hold space for them to do the work of healing themselves. I am currently in a year long herbalism program where I am learning about plant medicine.
When not providing therapy, you will find me with my family, growing vegetables, pursuing sustainable living, enjoying concerts, being in nature, doing yoga and painting.
