Teens
Adolescence is a time when we figure out who we are. With the demands of school and relationships, it can be overwhelming at times. I help teens learn the coping skills they need to replace isolation, self-harm, substance use and other unhealthy ways of dealing with stress with positive behaviors that improve their overall well being. I provide a non-judgmental, supportive environment where teens can express themselves.
By getting the support they need, they are able to make decisions they can feel good about. I love supporting teens as they navigate life’s challenges and I enjoy helping them gain compassion for themselves and others, as well as improve their communication with friends and family. I adapt my art-therapy approach to suit the specific needs of my teen clients. We may use photography, drawing, sculpture or collage. Some of my clients prefer not to use art in session, and that's perfectly fine, too!
I consider myself an ally to people who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
